Euro Finance Week 2020 under the sign of digitization and Covid-19: Opportunities, challenges and perspectives

Covid-19 and the year 2020 are forcing us all to break new ground and choose new formats in order to adapt us immediately to changed circumstances. This year’s Euro Finance Week will take place as a hybrid event, which means that it will take place personally on site, but also digitally connected. And we, EFiS AG, will be present with a virtual stand.

Digitization and TARGET2-Consolidation are both the core and hot topics of Euro Finance Week 2020. Low interest rates increase the cost pressure on the banking industry

and payment transactions. Covid-19 is changing our business models, but at the same time offers opportunities to address necessary changes faster and more efficiently. In February 2020, the European Commission published its “Ideas and measures for a digital transformation that works for everyone”, thus presenting the European data strategy and the white paper on artificial intelligence.

We at EFiS AG have positioned ourselves well to face the many challenges strongly. As every year, we look forward to seeing you at Euro Finance Week. You can find out more about our innovative concepts at our virtual stand and discuss the specific added value of the EFiS solutions for your company in bilateral discussions. Our main topics this year are:

  • Covid-19, cybercrime and the effects on a changed work environment
  • Digitization
  • Instant Payments – SWIFT AGI, EBICS, RT1 and TIPS
  • API-Banking/Open Banking – PSD2/Quo vadis?
  • TARGET2 consolidation project
  • SWIFT Cross-border XML and gpi
  • SWIFT Shared Infrastructure Programme

In particular, we would like to draw your attention to Tech Day (Wednesday, formerly Payments Conference), which will deal with current topics in the area of payments. To what extent have financial transactions changed in times of Covid-19? What does this mean for cybercrime? Armin Gerhardt, CEO of EFiS AG, reports from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on current experiences and why topics such as TARGET2, SWIFT gpi and XML have not lost their relevance despite the Covid-19 crisis.

We look forward to seeing you and an exciting exchange.
