EFiS

The transaction house for finance in Europe

Providing domestic, European and global payment processing, offering outsourcing or in-house based solutions: As a leading independent payment provider we provide our scalable E.F.I.S.® Transaction Platform as a service which delivers a highly performant solution for the payment operations of your company. 30 years of experience in the world of payments enable us to offer you solutions which are adapted to your specific requirements.

Since 1990, EFiS as a service company has been offering the services provided by ABK as an in-house solution as Software as a Service. Customers from the financial sector, industry and commerce can access the services hosted in their own Green-IT computer center and benefit from the many advantages of outsourcing. The EFiS SWIFT Service Bureau also offers all SWIFT products and services.

Other payment transaction services include solutions for cross-bank invoice and cash management, audit-proof archiving and documentation of all operative payment transactions as well as comprehensive money laundering and embargo checks. The infrastructure is also used for other financial transactions such as securities, FX transactions and documents.

Thanks to the immediate proximity to the financial center Frankfurt am Main, we have direct contacts to the market-shaping institutions and organisations that work with us to advance payment transactions.

Our strengths include the great flexibility in the execution of our activities as well as our modular software basis, which has grown over the years. Responsible for this are our qualified and motivated employees, who provide the basis for our services: Experience & know-how!

Our Philosophy

A role model for the future

By supporting education, university thesis, student jobs, Girls Days and student internships, we support the next generation. Through Green IT, we also contribute to environmental friendliness: EFiS protects resources, saves energy and reduces pollutant emissions by using our own solar systems.

Customer orientation

Through close cooperation with our customers, individual requirements lead to constant technological progress. The challenges our customers have to face are our benchmark. We proactively solve our customers’ requirements in a permanent dialogue. Thanks to our locations, we are able to speak the language of our customers and partners not only professionally but also culturally.

Strong partners

We maintain long-term relationships with our partners to ensure effective cooperation. For example, our computer center is based on the powerful machines of our cooperation partner IBM.

The person counts

We stand for social commitment. That is why child days for mothers and fathers (or part-time for parents) and support for “Project 50plus” are a matter of course for us. We would like to preserve our experienced employees and the know-how of the last 40 years. Furthermore, we have been supporting the Janusz-Korczak-School in Langen for years and the missionary organisation „Stückchen Himmel“.

Active participation

We are actively involved in associations such as IHK, VDT, GSU, TWIST and the Economic Council in order to help shape new ideas. We also participate in the forums SWIFT (SIBOS), EBA, IBC, IFF and GSE: proactive – innovative – competent.

Inexpensive – but not cheap!

Our focus is on cost and benefit efficiency. For this reason, the use of state-of-the-art technology to improve our business processes is a matter of course for us.

Green IT

The digital revolution and the associated increase in energy demand require the intelligent use of modern information and communication technologies. At this point, Green IT is the key to greater efficiency, sustainability and the exploitation of existing energy potential.

By means of a solar system on the roof of the building, EFiS uses the generated energy to support the power supply of the data center. As a rule, a large part of the power consumption is used to cool and ventilate the hardware. Many data centers are still cooled down to around 22 degrees Celsius, although modern technologies permit significantly higher temperatures. The mainframes used by IBM z Systems have been operated at a temperature of 30 degrees Celsius for years.
